I think I've found the right car:
2003 C4S Seal Gray, black leather, xenons, sport exhaust, crests in the seats, brake shifter and hand brake in leather and alum, heated seats, colored wheel caps, bose, and alum and chrome pkg, new tires. 15K, CPO to 12/08, 1 owner car, asking $65K.
What do I offer and what should I expect to pay for this car.
Not to sure about canada.
But around here it is a good idea to check out Edmunds.com, KBB.com, prices on ebay, prices on Autotrader.com. Then make sure that is the car you really want, as many will say don't rush the buy. If its the right car for you then it may be worth spending a little bit more for it.
No one ever spent to much money for something they really wanted, but a lot of people spent very little money for something they were not completely happy with.

It's a US car that I'd be importing into Canada. There are three cars that I really like, but this one is closer and the lowest mileage one. All three are priced within a couple of grand of each other.
Made the offer negotiated and everything looked good, but the Sales rep was out at the Chicago Autoshow on his cell for this and said he'd call me once he was back at the store. Well just got off the phone with him and someone else sold it from under him while he was out!
What a drag! i even had the plane ticket reserved to go and see the car on Thursday. Well the hunt continues...

Great advise, Chris - I didn't get a deal by any means, but I got EXACTLY the car I wanted. Pick a car you love, get the best deal you can, and go for it.

I had a verbal deal to buy a car, and the seller backed out of the deal a week into me arranging a PPO and shipping. Be patient. Don't feel compelled to jump on a deal or overpay. There are good cars to be had. When you find your car, you will love it.
Yes I did see that red one but no heated seats (hey it's Canada and I don't know how possible it is to install the OEM heaters and switches) and wife not too impressed with "arrest me" red colour.
I check everyday on the porsche pre-owned site: great in the US (lots of cars), useless in Canada with 3 C4S coupes in the whole country! I also check Autotrader, Cars.com, PCA Mart, Rennlist classified too.
Anyone feel free to let me know about any leads on one.
Buy one from here.......You may pay more, but if you re-sell you will get more, And I know others have brought this up, Porsche Cars Canada might not warranty it for you.. I never said it was right, its just the way it could end up..Ask a few other owners that brought cars in from the states and they will tell you.I hope it works out for you.

Believe it or not, I have tried (still trying) to, but there is absolutely no selection of C4S' around. I've had John at Pfaff looking for a car since October but all that he's come up with is a few C2 (not really what I want), a Targa and the yellow 03 C4S with lowered seats and no sunroof...that car has been sitting there for awhile now and would be a difficult one to resell later. There was a couple of used C4S but at $99K and $115K, they were a little north of my budget.
Paul, if you know anyone who's thinking of selling their C4S, let me know.
I called Porsche Cars Canada to ask about the waranty issue with importing a US car into Canada, and they were categorical: the warranty is valid at ANY authorized Porsche Dealer in N.A.. He went a step further to tell me that Canadian dealers are obligated to service your vehicle; it is not up to their discretion.
I just want to find the right car at a fair market value price whether in Canada or the US, but I won't settle for something that I won't be happy with long term just because it has the right "citizenship".

Indeed. It seems some of the dealerships are trying to bully those who buy US cars but they are obligated to provide warranty under the Canadian equivelant of the warranty. The other thing is you could take a road trip to a US dealer if there was an item that was covered by one and not the other, though I dont know of any.
I will poke around for you on a c4s, I know more then a few people in the industry...What are you looking for, I will find you someone that has the car. What would be your ideal car to buy...
