Thank you Loren. What exactly does..."Manufacture from the exclusive-programme" mean? Also I don't see Xenon lights as an option however my car is equipped with them. Were Xenon lights standard equipment on the 996 in 1999?

Thanks again in advance,

Your "X" coded options are all from the Porsche Exclusive Program. My understanding is that these are actually installed at a different factory location.

The option code for Litronics was 601. It is possible these were dealer upgraded instead of factory?

OK Loren and CarreraFour, now I'm confused! Loren, as you know I'm currently on the hunt for a '99 or '00 C4, and after falling in love with the Lapis Blue I found out from the color chart you sent me that it was not available until 2001. How is CarreraFour's '99 Lapis Blue? <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

I can't speak for CarreraFour since I have not seen his color code. So, it could be a different blue (looks like Cobalt Blue in the photo, Lapis Blue usually looks darker) or it could have been special order. Porsche will paint a car "any color" for a fee.

The color is most likely Ocean Blue, as that is the most common blue in '99. Lapis and Ocean are very close, and are hard to tell them apart unless they are next to each other. Good Luck.

I too originally thought the color was Ocean Blue as well but, when I checked the color codes (39N) for 99 models against the code on the car it was not listed for the 99 model anywhere. So I asked the PO and she said it was a special order color and did not know the color name. I then checked with the dealer and they too orginally said Ocean Blue Metallic but then later called me back to say they were in error and the color is Lapis Blue.

I can't get a first time nail down on this color anywhere. What I can also add is that this car has a lot of neat aftermarket goodies inside and out and the PO did not "take any shorts". This car is by far the most magnificent Porsche I have EVER owned!
