Default Any Boat Owners Who are also 911 Owners?

Just curious if the 911 is th eonly hobby. I try to fit boating & golf into the weekend but just not enough time.

Would like to see any pics of boat / 911 combo's

No pics on-hand, but I have a 27' C&C sloop that I keep down in the Chesapeake. Right about this time of year I'm not sure what I miss most -- boating or the track??

What boat do you have Ron and where do you keep it?

I've decided that golf is not on my top 2 priority list of hobbies, I'll always be a terrible golfer and that's just fine with me!

I'd love to say it's my boat, but that's a lie

I have a Catalina 22 in slip at the lake by my house. It's kinda fun but there is no question about which is more fun. The track is way better. But chillen on the boat when it's super hot out is nice too.

I'm not sure which is more fun. In terms of a pure adrenalin rush, sailing has racing beat. I've never been offshore but the Chesapeake can get quite treacherous, and I often sail single-handed. While driving you can back off, while sailing, you can't escape the weather.

In both, you have to trust yourself. In driving you have to focus on what's ahead, and not what you just messed up. In sailing, you have to take things as they come. If the wind doesn't blow the right direction, then you have to go the wrong direction to get where you want to go. If your mast falls off, you have to deal with it, because what are the options???

Driving you always have the option of pulling off. In sailing, there are very few outs.

Boats are another good way of spending money! We have a Cobalt 190, Triumph 170 and hand-built Chestnut cedar-strip canoe in Ontario and a Hydra-Sports 170 in the FL Keys. My favorite boating method is idle speed looking at water and all that is in and around it.
Cheers

Westsail 32, cutter, bought new in '77 . just finished a complete refit including new Yanmar diesel, Glacier Bay refer unit and Icom SSB. in Key West headed for the Abacos. Off shore passegmaking is as addicting as a P-car in the twisties

Boats and Porsches my whole life, can't live without at least one of each. Although I did forego a two porsche garage to live on the water.

Waterskiing is much more fun than driving a Porsche. My kids both solomon and barefoot and they both love it....which makes it the best for a Dad. And of course....we have always had the best sking boats made...Mastercraft.

Cobalt 23 for lake cruising.
Maristar 230 for wakeboarding and general watersports.
Kawasaki 1100STXDi for play.
SeaDoo 4-tec Supercharged for faster play.

Nautiques are better than Mastercraft and MB Sports are even better than those.

I have to agree that living on the lake is a great way to raise kids. My kids are off in college but they loved to slalom and barefoot when they were growing up. Me too! However, it's been a long time since Mastercraft could claim to be the best. We've had a Malibu for years. Can't seem to wear it out.
