I think that had a lot to do with the 80's boom. People with more money than common sense.

Now, people work hard for their money, they spend it carefully, and so you would think a $100,000 car is not a casual purchase.

How about the way water comes in the driver's window in the rain. It drips right on the leather grab handle and arm rest. No matter how slightly you open it.
The boxtser is way worse though, maybe all the cabs do this more. I currently have a coupe.

The sound. There is none! These cars are so quiet it doesn't sound like a sportscar at all. Sportscars are supposed to be loud, obnoxious beasts that are so responsive that driving one strikes fear into lesser mortals.

I'd like to add, finding a good parking garage, especially one that has "self park". I've been training downtown (18th and I) for the past couple days, yesterday was terrible. Today I found a nice large building with pleanty of parking room and elevators instead of a dungeon and having to walk in circles to exit.

Nevermind performance driving, it applies to all driving. You'll never see a set of cupholders on any car in Germany. The preocuppation with doing twenty things at once in the cockpit is a purely American thing. The Germans take driving seriously.

Every building downtown is self park if you open the wallet sufficiently. Finding ones that do not require you to open the wallet is more difficult.

Biggest gripe about the 996? That the replacement pods for the in-dash cappuchino maker take so damned long to get here from Stuttgart. They really should cut a deal with Starbucks.
