You want loud:)? Bypass Pipes...
This guy needed more sound and actually it's probably what I would do instead on an exhaust on a 996. You loose 45 pounds and just go to a bypass pipe from Fabspeed, which is cheap. I can't remember what type of blue this is but nonetheless it's close to that RuF baby blue.... Nice cab but now it's a LOT louder. It's been a while since we did the bypass pipes.

It'll be back some point or next time we do one I'll get a clip- promise!

how is your HP/torque curves with the open exhaust?
looks like you need some equal length headers

Yep, earplugs are required. It sounds great though.
I actually gained 13 hp and similar torque when I went from a setup like Sharkeys to straight pipes. All the power is above 5000. Below that the car just dies. That's ok for racing most of the time. You probably can't tell in the picture but I have Supertrapps so I can add backpressure if I am at a track where I need it.
I've wondered about some different headers. These are the ones that come with the X51 package. I should probably try a set of equal length.

hey jim,
i did notice the flanges for the the supertrapps. i may have to do a similar setup for tracks like laguna seca and sears point or any tracks that are within earshot of civilization. button willow and thunderhill are in BF egypt and you can run pretty much open.
your headers look like standard 996 fare. mine are sitting in the corner of the garage.

Hehe very cool indeed (but you NEED headers) . I also run 5 inch straight pipes off of the turbos on my 996TT so I know where you are coming from.. I'll post pix. It's UGLY!
