Unhappy How to align exhaust tips?

Finally got around to installing a Fabspeed exhaust in '02 996 coupe. Before I can tighten everything down, I need to align the exhaust tips. I have the measurements for the spacing, but can't seem to get the tips aligned (factory tips - didn't like Fabspeeds). Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to get them to line up?
Thanks

Well this is something you need to spend some time on, you need to keep playing with it. No simple answer just time.

I think the actual spec is a 20-25mm gap between the top of the tip and the cutout of the bumper, viewed from the rear. Ask Loren, he probably has a pic he can post from the service manual.

Thanks, the measurements I had were 20mm away from bumper cut out and 10mm from bumper to exhaust tip.(I don't know if these are right - got them from another thread) Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the closest I could get was about 23-28mm all around. After several unsuccessful attempts I removed the mufflers to find one sides mount about 1 1/5 inches further forward than the other side. To make both sides close to equal I had to move the other sides tip out to match the length of bad side. If you look real close you can tell that there is a difference from stock, hopefully most people won't notice.

If you really get worked up over it, you could always stop by an indy and ask them to take look for you. Given that you have done most of the work, I can't see it costing you more than half a c-note.
