Default instrument panel gauge lights not turning on??

Help, I got an '04 C2, when I turn the lights on at night, the gauge cluster lights (numbers that light up on the gauges) do not always come on! sometimes they do, sometimes they dont! They will turn on eventually or if I run over a bump, so I think its a loose connection, can anyone help me!?

P.S. the OBC screen always turns on, its just the gauge lighting.. i cant see RPM, Oil Pressure etc... when these gauge cluster lights are out!

just for archive purposes, the instument cluster lights were fixed by the dealer. They installed a new headlight switch, the round **** that turns on the lights.
