I have to really slam down my trunk (Front) lid for it to catch and close right on my 99. Is hit normal or should I be looking for an adjustment?

Have you tried the press to click method?
No slamming required

No slamming! Lower the trunk lid to the safety catch then place your fingers extended and spread on each side of emblem and gently push 'till it locks. Don't push on the emblem. You want to spread the pressure you put on the lid. If that doesn't work, then dealer needs to sdjust. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Palting

As you may have gathered, slamming the lid is a big NO-NO. If you HAVE to do it to get the trunk closed, then you need to have the latches adjusted.
