Post Sick 2001 GT2 ClubSport Available on eBay

I was trolling the eBay boards, and lo and behold, what do I see but a 2001 GT2 Clubsport (ie, GT2 Euro edition) available for sale from a dealer in Phoenix, AZ. Reserve set "just under $285,000." Black rims add a...unique touch. I really liked the Recaro racing seats and three-point harness.

Oh, and the dealers are going to throw in a Mini Cooper to the winner.

Good sequence of pictures. Check it out:

A couple quick thoughts...

1. Does the Euro Club Sport really have more HP?
2. What did they do to it to meet emissions?
3. If the speedo was changed for DOTing, does it really have 777 miles?
4. $285g and it has cloth seats?
5. If they are throwing in a Mini, how much is the dealer really making on this car?

Good points Ed, all of them. Plus I've heard some negative things about the dealership that were posted on the Turbo board.

I think the pictures are nice though...

Regards.

Heay,

Those dont look like ceramic brakes to me. Nor did I think Porsche built a GT2 for 2001. Hmmmmm......

1. The so-called Club Sport version has no more horsepower than the "standard" GT2. 2. I saw another GT2 Club Sport last weekend at the PCA Zone 1 event and it had leather seats. 3. The roll cage is a bolt-on. 4. There is virtually nothing in the club sport that justifies any significant price increase (and the one on EBay with cloth seats should be less than leather). 5. Neither the one on EBay nor the one I saw on Sunday had the carbon ceramic brakes (in fact, the early production models of the GT2 had metal rotors) and, as such, in my opinion, there should have been a discount, not an increase in price. Finally, as you will note, the reserve on EBay was not met, one hopes an indication of intelligent Porsche buyers not falling prey to dealers attempting to take advantage.
