High volume dealerships?
Now that my saga with the SL 55 is over...how can I find out who the highest volume dealers are? I have a good relationship with the dealer where I got my car but if I want the TT as soon as possible some one on the board recommended finding a dealership that does a high volume as they will have the best chance of getting a car in stock quickly.
Thanks!
Thanks!

well, the highest volume porsche dealer in the USA is Champion in Florida. In the tri-state area, I would try any of the dealers on the Island, Roslyn or Storms in the hamptons would be my pick.
Might I also suggest a different strategy, the opposite. I tend to think that you are looking for a car in a market full of people that want that car and can have it asap.
For example, I am second on the list for an RS4 in LI. However, the dealer in Charleston, SC had no one on the list. There is a Porsche dealer in SC.

Chris has it right. You need to go with a LOW volume dealer. When my father bought his SL when they first came out and were the hot item he couldn't find a spot in the DC area especially from his dealer that he had bought 5 or 6 cars from already.....NO LUCK! He ended up getting his from Brownsville, Texas and had it shipped.

Yep, I go to low volume dealerships. I bought my 996 in Cincinnati, there I paid a better price than people were offering on autotrader plus I received a CPO warranty. Also, I remember asking the salesperson how many of those GT's have you sold, he says.."ahhh none". I take my car in to a Local DC dealership 2 weeks later and ask the same question the saleman says "I dunno, maybe 6 or 7". I really do think someone who shopped in OH could pick up a GT for less than they can from here.

I have not spoken to Ray Catena...I will be starting my onslaught next week. I plan to call a ton of dealers. Actually that is exactly what I did when I got my 03...I called at least 20 dealers...the car was shipped from NC to a dealer in PA who delivered it to my house. Who is your contact? Is he a salesman?

RA.....call Michael Schwartz at Schneider & Nelson, tell him I sent you. The guy is one of the few really honest ones out there, and is possibly very close to your location.
