Default Prices for 40th Anniversary models?

I see where one sold on ebay for just under $60K. Is that the going price for a 40th these days?

I believe that they stickered out for over $90K when new?

If so, I might be interested in one at $60K !

Porsche offered its Dealers a huge rebate on these cars. Lots of guys bought them new for less than $80K.

Somebody at my dealership told me all of their 40th cars ended up selling for wholesale at the auction. Wished I would have known about that at the time, I would have jumped on one. I always thought it was a cool package.

17k? Ouch.

That's a nice package too - the interior upgrades bring the car up to spec, and the turbo front looks great. Plus, you get 3 more years of warranty.

But that begs the question, why did you sell your 993 widebody? That car looks spectacular. That's one of those cars you should have held onto until death did you part...

Selling the 993 C4S was the worst automotive mistake I ever made. At the time it seemed like the right decision since my employer was going through a merger and I wasn't sure about my future employment status.

After a 2 year hiatus (where I have been playing with other toys and also investing in real estate) I'm back in the hunt and have been considering a 996 C4S or maybe an anniversary model.

As you can tell from my avatar, I love unique cars...whether it be in color or style/rarity!

That reminds me of my worst automotive error, not buying a brand new 993 back in 1997, I passed and bought a "practical" SUV. I would have kept that car forever.
Sorry for the highjack

No problem on the thread hijack....

I love the 993's and would love to have another someday.

Right now I would rather have something with a warranty and a few more modern conveniences (I guess I'm getting old!)

Bill: As an owner of a 40th Anniversary I know you will not be disappointed if you decide to choose this as your next P-car. This is a very unique vehicle. I bought mine last year brand new at a very nice discount. I thought then it was an incredible value on a brand new P-car. Today a low mileage conservatively used example would be a great bargain!

My company is currently going through a merger and learning from your experience, no way am I getting rid of my ride!!!...

Best of luck in your search!

A lot of dealers were offereing $17k discounts without haggling. I personally know that you could get $20k off if you haggled a bit.

Good luck on the merger, Fast40th. Let me know if you want to dump your car.
