How hard is it to install this kit? What would an installer charge?

on the switch? Can you use a Porsche switch instead? I guess a switch that's normally used to raise/lower the top on a cab would be fine.

Can the system be integrated with the stereo? Or better still, with the phone module of the PCM?

I'm sorry that I couldn't answer your question, but at least I've got you a bunch of questions

Interested in how you get on with the installation. The Parrot system seems to be a class leading unit in terms of compatability/functionality, etc.

This is mandated by insurance in Luxembourg? That's how it is in Belgium now.

I'm curious ... what are the Luxembourg car taxes like to register a car such as this? In Belgium they are very expensive so we seen many Luxembourg plates on the road.

Hi,
It's not mandated by insurrance ! But if you call without this, you can pay more than the car kit ;-) if you are stoped by the Police !!!
In Luxembourg, you have not "register" taxes such Belgium ! Only VAT (15%) and annual taxes (150 EURO).

Did you end up installing it? If so, how did you do it? My dealer is trying to install one for me, but they don't know how...

I have a bluetooth kit and I love it. The best place for the switch is in the ashtray (assuming you don't smoke). I have a carbon fiber interior, so I built a little carbon fiber shelf to lift the switch as high as I could while allowing the lid to close. With the lid closed, you see nothing of the kit. The best part about bluetooth is that I can leave my phone in my briefcase in the trunk or in my jacket, and the handsfree would be completely invisible. When you need to use the switch (which is almost never if you use voice commands), you simply tap the cover of the ashtray, it swivels open, and you have access to the switch. All nice and easy, and you don't even have to look down to do it.

I had a Parrot CK3000 kit, but I swapped it out for a Sony Ericcson HBK30. I prefer the S-E kit, but keep in mind that it works much, much better if you use it with S-E phones, which I use.

Not hard to install, but I recommend professional installation. My system is completely integrated wiht the stereo and the phone module of the PCM. When I get a call, my stereo is muted automatically. When I answer, I can hear the callers voice through the stereo. When the call is completed, the stereo resumes automatically. excellent.

The reason I left parrot is because it did not interface with the Porsche stereos very well. I know that they have now released new kits, so it might be different, but I spoke with the factory last time and they had no solution for me. By contrast, the Sony Ericsson kit has an optional "advanced music" kit that plugs directly into the Porsche stock stereos.
