Post Lowering a C4S

I have a C4S coming in July. What is the best way to lower it. My dealer recommends using H&R springs with the existing shocks resulting in one and a half inch lower ride. Are the H&R's and the existing shocks a truly compatible package? I track my cars about 10 times a year but I need a good compromise between street and track.

I had mine lowered with H&R by my dealer, Champion. They wanted an outrageous price and I beat them pretty good because they knew local independent competition was tough. It is lower and looks great.

I was told by reliable sources that if you track the car you will want to change the shocks to the ROW.

I just read the latest Panorama. Very nice article on the M030, ROW vs US. Basically, the sport springs for US is lower than standard, but since it is stiffer, the end result is no change in ride height. The ROW sport springs are shorter still, so they do result in lower ride height. Bump stop heights also changed. The US and ROW sport shocks are the same.

However, this was limited to a C2 comparison. They do make a lot of comments about how the suspension is tuned to specific models, and I suppose the ROW C2 sport suspension cannot just be placed on a C4S. No data on C4S, which supposedly comes lowered from standard C2. My deduction from above is that the US C4S has the US sport springs with no change in ride height.

Anybody know if an ROW C4S suspension is available? Does it indeed lower ride height? I'd hate to buy an ROW C4S as a parts car, heh-heh-heh.

So is the ONLY difference between std US and M030 US in the springs and bump stops , i.e., same bars/ bushings and shocks ?

The reason I ask is, I've seen ads for converting to US ( not even ROW) M030 that included new springs, shocks AND bars . I'm referring to carnewal.com's web site.

No, the shocks, sway bars and springs are all different between std US and M030 US.

The only difference between the US M030 and the ROW M030 are the springs and bump stops. The shocks and sway bars are the same on the two sport versions.

BTW, this applies to the '99-01 C2/C4. Don't know about the '02's and the C4S.

The bushings, sway bars, shocks, are different between the std and M030. They are the same in ROW M030 and US M030. What upsets me is that the spring heights are different between the ROW M030 and US M030. Do they think Americans are Lardasses, or what?

Just checked Carnewal website. They have ROW M030, but for a 996 C4. I suppose they mean pre-wide-body. Bummer.

So it's most economical then to order the US M030 for $690 option price , then install a set of Euro M030 springs if you want lower ride height .
