Question What is good estimate for a cost of a GT-3?

Just curious, what kind of price tag does the European GT-3 hold in U.S. currency?

I would have thought it would be between USD 110K/120K, based upon 1999 new price of GBP £76.5K

New about $125K Used $90K-130K. Higher figure with PM motor upgrade and short gears.

There is a 2000 Euro GT-3 clubsport for sale in Cali right now. He has not been able to sell it for $50k. This is primarily becuase it is NOT modified for US spec, so it can only be a track car. Although $50k for a GT3 track car is tempting. Second problem is that it is zanzibar red. :-(

Please tell me where a Gt3 is for $50K? I doubt it but hope you are right.

Call Nasser at 310-383-8664. Keep in mind it is a unconverted car. This means you cannot drive it on the road in the US - AT ALL. You cannot insure it or register it. Pay cash and keep it on the track. The other bad thing... good luck on parts - most special order from Germany 6-8 weeks. Thats why I passed on it, although it was very tempting.

Must say,
though US controls on such cars are hard to understand IF the ROW are happy to welcome such fine motors - TVR (Cerbera or Tuscan - exhaust note to die for!...www.tvr.co.uk) and SUBURU (22B...www.22b.com) comes to mind - into their midst.

Having said that, I would NOT pay $1 - never mind $50k - for a car that I cannot register, INSURE nor USE on public roads - even IF I had Bill Gates money! Sorry but playing hide & seek is not what I have in mind - I just wanna DRIVE anywhere, anytime day or night.

Good luck to whoever buys it...just my cents worth.

Just switch the vins from your current 996 onto the GT3, register, insure, and drive. Won't that work?

I am considering a GT3 here in the UK. Dealer prices for RHD are £70K - £74K for low mileage 10,000mile cars with some spec. However good LHD cars from mainland Europe can be sourced for about £55K - You'll have to do you own conversion to US.

SICAONE - You've got a good point! Find a wrecked 996, buy it cheap and switch VINS. I do not condon such tactics. As long as there are laws, people will figure out ways to brake them!
