Post 996 Engine Numbers / Dates

I bought a Used 996 c4 in August of 2001 production date is 6/99
The Sticker on the hood and book list the Engine Code / Transmission code as:
M960268x G9630 -10
The number stamped on the engine is: M96/0268x07040

How can I tell the production date of the engine and if it has been replaced.

Is the date of my engine after the problems of collant/oil and main seal problems.

You might be able to tell roughly from the number but the best way (IMO) is to order the official Porsche Certificate of Authenticity from PCNA. This will give you the original engine number, transmission number and all options that were shipped on the car. For $35 this is great verification. There is usually an ad in Excellence Magazine for this (if not call them at 1-800-545-8039).
