Post B & M Shifter

I installed my B & M shifter yesterday that I bought from bobby at foreign affair ($236 + $15 shipping) Very easy & enjoyable to install, I put the shift **** back on and pushed it down all the way and tightened the allen screw and drove my car about 30 miles around town. I noticed that the shifter **** sits much lower and the shifts are very percise and does require more effort to shift. It just occured to me today that if I raise the shift **** I will have more leverage when shifting. I raised the **** 2 inches (you can easly raise it 4 inches) and the **** sure looks perfect where it sits now and I just went for a drive and it feels great. It reduced the effort in shifting by 50% and it just clicks through the gears very easy. Its perfect now.
No Slop
Positve Engagment
Short Throw
Easy Effort
Right Height for Shift ****
and I love the click click feel, just like a Ferrari gated shifter
Adjust your shift **** height for the best feel and I think you will be even happier with your B & M Shifter

Hi Bob,

Do you have instructions on how to install yourself? If so, could you please send it to me or let me know where I can get it? Thanks.

Funny how I got no response on this board. The plan is to film a third B&M install on a 996 this Sunday in San Jose. Jeff

I saw your post and true, I didn't respond to it.
Now if you were going to supply the pizza, the beer and the shift kit that would of been another story

It will be at Henry's house in Almaden Valley. Empty 3 car garage with parking for a dozen cars. The 'donor' 996 is a 1999 owned by Chad who lives in Modesto. Why he would drive all the way from Modesto to San Jose for a 1 hour (2 hours with the camera) shift install is beyond me as the beer will be warm when he arrives, but Loren found him and there were no other more local 996 owners who responded.

Hi Loren,

Sorry to bother you, but would you mind sending me a copy of the instructions for the short shifter install as well?

My email address is important@rogers.com.

Thanks in advance!

Tool Pants,

What time are you going to start the install? I may drop by and bring some cold Modelo's. I'll need an address.
