Post 996 CV bolt pattern?

I'm just wondering how the size of the CV's compare to a 944. What size are they? Are they interchangeable with the 944 units?

thanks

Exclamation

the 924/944/968 use the M8x48 bolt (same part # as virtually every CV axle VW ever made since '68.5), while the 85.5- 928, 964 C2, 993 and 996 all use an M10x50 bolt. so then you get into changing drive flanges, that'd be a mess.

*but*, the 97-99 Boxster uses and M8x50 bolt, so the flange would take the bolt, but who knows if the CV will fit the flange or your axle splines?

so basically, no.

sometimes these forums (any, not just Rennlist) will hickup and post your message multiple times. i always go back and edit the extras. that way no one wastes time reading them, when there's no additional info to be had there...
