Post Gotta sell...help with best forum

I've got to sell my '99 C2 (with Aero kit)...looking for the best forum in which to list the car. Tried cars.com and Dupont Registry with no luck. I'm in St. Louis and using the local media and had more replies using that approach.

Best bet IMHO would be e-bay. A lot of knowledgeable buyers in there. Forums would have mostly owners, not people looking to buy relatively new cars. Unless it is a pristine early edition, such as 944S or T

Uhhhhh...how about Rennlist?

Or eBay?

Autotrader.com and yahoo.com are other venues.

Regards.

I had great luck selling my 00 740i Sport on Autotrader.com. Although I only received four inquiries in 3 months, they were all highly qualified and 3/4 came by to take test drives. The last inquiry bought the car at full pop ($50K) in May, allowing me to get my C4S.

If you don't want the hassle of having strangers come to your house to see or test drive your car - many porsche dealers will sell your car from their showroom as a dealer car on consignment - typically, you would split the purchase price received over wholesale value. Given that resales from dealers tend to go for more than 3rd party sales (and you get the benefit of dealer detailing, marketing and potential trade opportunities for buyers), you may come out all right even though you are sharing part of the purchase price with the dealer.

I guess I'm the only one left that thinks this way, but I would NEVER buy a car sight unseen off E-bay It's a big enough hassle buying a $20 book

If you can't sell it on AutoTrader, you may have to do some price adjustments. '99 cars are very plentiful and you have to price it to sell

I'd list the car in the classified sections of Excellence Magazine (spend the $10 to post a photo of the car)and Porsche Panorama
