Post rubber bellows (accordian thing) under rear wing is tearing...

Has this happened to anyone else?

It's tearing at the seams in several spots. One tear is about seven inches.

$78 from the dealer.

Anyone know of a cheaper source?

thanks!

What happens if you just remove it?

I have a 99 C-2 that had the same thing occur and had the dealer give me a replacement under warranty, but in the meantime I had a fixed wing on order. I ended up putting the fixed wing on and never installing the "accordian" baffle. If you're interested in it e-mail me and we can work out a price.

I just did this DIY. I followed the instructions at Renntech (here):

http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...667&hl=bellows

These are the best instructions I've followed for an auto DIY in a long time. The job was just as described and took about as long as the intructions said. Perfect and a very easy job!

The only thing missed in the description that I did to make life easier was to remove the 3rd brake light in order to slide the upper metal retainer out of position.

The part number that you need for this item is:
Spoiler Trim, Porsche Part #: 996 512 250 00

I bought mind from Sunset Imports for $68.24
