First Foray on the Track...Happy!
Finally got a chance to try my car at its limit. Sunset put on an invite-only day for new owners at PIR. Had a chance to do autocross on a wet surface and some laps on the track. I was nervous about doing it b/c I had heard many cautions about the car especially without PSM, and b/c in previous lives I have left many $ on the Armco at PIR.
I was actually thrilled at the way the car handled. Wet, Dry, on the track, whatever. Understeer and oversteer conditions are easily handled with the appropriate inputs. It was way fast in the corners at PIR and went right where I pointed it. Drift angles controllable and throttle steering just an enormous pleasure. Brakes are huge and great. Satisfying "just painted with a roller" pattern all the way across the contact patch on the tires afterward.
After owning a twitchy SRF, this was just plain easy and fun.
Alas, Paulina developed an oil filler cap leak and had to quit after 1 autox and 1 lapping session. Turns out the filler neck is deformed somehow...off to the shop.
Sunset did an awesome job putting the day together.
