Potential owner looking for FAQ's and Advise for mods
Guys, I've always been a 996 Fan and the more and more I get to drive them the more convinced I am that I'd like to purchase one. I currently drive an '02 E46 M3 and 01 A4 that will both actually be kept as a garage mates to the 996.
My questions involves differences in the early 3.4L cars vs. the later 3.6L cars...if there's any year to stay away from and cost vs. gain of performance modifications in the differing 3.4 vs 3.6 engines. A biggie here is also what's the best Suspension setup to look into.
The purpose of the car is that it will take the place of the M3 as a weekend / track car. and I'm going to transform the M3 back to a daily driver.
Modifications will include:
Performance: no power adders simply looking for bolt-on potential
Suspension: fully adjustable Coilovers and sways
Brakes: Hopefully like the M3 the 996 brakes are good enough that lines and race pads will do the trick.
Thats what my plans are...but I'm looking for places to start as I'm completely new to the Porsche realm.
