Does anyone have any experience with the GHL muffler bypass pipes? Or does any one have any used Fabspeed bypass pipes they would like to part with? Thanks

IMO, the bypass is much to loud for everyday driving. Go to Pep-Boys and pick up a pair of 90 degree extention pipes and put them on ($15). Then take you car out that evening and drive around town. Unless you are deaf, I can't imagine anyone liking them daily. You neighbors won't like them...that's for sure. First time you come to a light next to a cop.......he won't like them either. Most tracks don't like them either.

I have the fabspeed bypass pipes on my everyday driver. 01 996 c4 supercharged. I love them. They are not to loud in my opinion. They seem really loud when you 1st hear them. I get even more compliments on my car then I already did. The car sounds fabulous with the bypass pipes.

I just put the Pep Boys pipes on last weekend - just as 1999Porsche911 said above. It is loud, but my car isn't my daily driver, so I may go this route or I still might decide it's too loud and go with one of the muffler choices out there. Either way, I would strongly recommend doing this mod to find out how loud it really is.
The loudness that I'm not real fond of is when I'm just driving at a constant speed on the freeway. I love the sound on acceleration, but the constant roar may just prove to be too much.

when i did the pse "conversion" on my mufflers i drove the car with the boxes off. i went round the block ..saw a cop and ran home....way loud..
am i right to suggest that this is what the bypass will sound like?
i have done the pse and feel they are too quiet? maybe outside and behind the car driving it sounds better?

Chris, the Pep Boys pipes fit perfect off the shelf. Easy mod and a good (inexpensive) way to see if you like it LOUD!
If you like the sound, you could get a set of nice tips to put on or just by the Fabspeed bypass pipes. They're pricey but are very high quality.

I have the fabspeed. It is loud, but I like it. I mean, isn't that the way sports cars are supposed to be? A little rough around the edges?! Seriously, If I drove the car daily, I wouldn't leave them on but since I only track the car with the occasional street use. PSE sounds great for the daily driver.
Pep Boys pipes? Do you have a part number?

At least once a week though, after taking my mufflers off, some kid in a Honda will stop me and say "Dude, your car is sick!" And then of course, they want to race...
