Default Gas Mileage

To help conserve gasoline, what is the best way to drive a 996, with manual transmission, to maximize fuel efficiency? Is it best not to let RPM's run over a certain level, should one not drive above a set speed limit in highway driving, etc. Thanks.

6th gear is your friend - all I can say.

Obviously city driving and a lot of acceleration will burn gas. Take it easy on the speeder and keep RPM at its lowest = 6th gear as soon as possible. E.g. shift from 2nd to 6th right away

In very congested Dallas, Texas, I am still getting 19.3mpg. Not bad considering it's my daily driver and I'm in bumper-to-bumper both ways. My commute is approx. 70 mi. roundtrip a day.

Take ignition coil #1 and #4 out, secure lose wires using zip ties.

Running the car with only 4 cylinders will help.

Add a Supercharger.
My gas mileage has improved dramatically since the blower went in

Make sure you run 44 psi in the rear tires and 36 in the front.
