Default Michelin ps2 not available in 285/30/18???

Am I crazy or do then not offer this tire in this size??? I am going to replace my tires after a blow out and then some. I really wanted to go ps2 but seemingly they don't make it in a 285. I am then thinking well, 295 then with a 235 front???

Also another question wouldn't it be better to get a higher load capacity value i.e. 95y say on a 235 than the n4 at 91y? I drive the car hard and I think the sidewalls will hold up better. Again if I end up doing 295 on my 10" rear, the should I do 235 or 245 front then on my 8" fronts? And 40 or 35 to match the rear diameter? This is the weirdest thing because usually porsche gets as close to 25 as possible however with the gt3 sizes they are apart when they could have gone to a 245 and been closer in diameter. Reasons???

I recently had to replace my PS2's rears. I also had the 285/30/18 on the rear and the fronts still had more than 50% tread so I wanted to stay with the PS2. I had to go through the dealer to get them. They then had to write a letter to Porsche NA who then allocated the two tires to the dealer. I believe they actually came from Tirerack, but they were only allowed to sell to the dealer. I ended up paying around $340 for each tire, which was about $50 more than they were when Tirerack was able to sell them. I really like the tires, they are quiet and really stick well. I got about 14,000 out of the last set of rears, but the last 2,000 miles probably was really pushing the limit on the tire. I would have switched at about 12,000, but it was such a hassel to find them. Not sure what I will go with next time around. Hopefully Michelin will start producing some of these again and I will just buy four rears and two fronts.

Kris I think he is referring to PS2 and not the PS Ribs.
They do offer a 235/265 N rated PS2 combo, I would consider that or the 275. 295s might be too wide for your rears.

in the same boat - looking for PS2's in 285 rears to replace the Pirelli's i have now (almost on the tread wear bars). Any other brands out there (Toyo, Kumho, KD's) as i don't want to go with the pirelli's again unless forced to to retain the 225-235/285 sizing

I wouldn't go down in size. I have run 295's before with stock suspension and am considering going back to 295's with either 235/245

cool - I'm running PSS-9's so fit should not be an issue if you were running the stock suspension at the time.
Off to tire rack online in the morning and schedule an alignment after they arrive

I think the main issue would be offset in conjunction with 295's I am running factory offset on the 5 spokes so there would seem to be no problem, but I haven't put them on the setup I have now only with the factory setup

i'm running the sport designs 8/52 and 10/65 - which i believe are the same as the 5 spokes.
current plan is to do the alignment to GT-3 specs (factory) which is backing off of what i have now (adding 15mm to ride height and relaxing the neg camber) this may not be totally possible, i'll have to wait until i get on the rack. the one thing that concerns me is the OD of the tires 24.5 front and 25 rear vs my current setup of 25.1 front & 25.2 rear for the Rosso Asimmetrico in 225/285 N4. The 245/35-18 PS2 is 24.8 and when paired with the 295/30-18 rear at 25".
looks like a few calls are in order on this one.

BTW I pulled the trigger on a set of 235/295 ps2's with the road hazard prog, since I have had 2 right rears blow out which would have been covered. I will have them installed and have my ride height set right on thurs at lucent
