Default Getting rid of the ashtray?

I'm a non smoker, and I would love to get rid of the ashtray.

Are there any ashtray delete packages somewhere - either just changing it to a little tray or getting rid of it completely?

check ebay or dealer. you can get a little cubbie hole instead of the ashtray w the door. to me, the flush look of the ashtray looks better.

Eric at BumperPlugs.com has both painted and non-painted versions of them. The link below shows a painted version.

Contact Eric at Bumperplugs.com It's a very easy install as well... just two T27 torque screws and be careful when removing the little light

You want the non-smokers package which consists of a small oddsment tray, a rubber insert and two torx screws. The entire pkg is about 45.00 at your local porsche dealer. Dont forget to purchase the plug for the cigarette lighter which is about 10.00.

It takes about 15 minutes or less to install.

Jim - I take it that you did this mod to your car? If so, you could have saved yourself $45.00 and had a solid clear bra installed over your rear center console. They could have sealed the opening of the ash tray that way.

I know this is a stale thread, but I'd really be interested to see how the mod came out. The bumperplug product just looks a little less attractive than the flush nature of the ashtray with cover. Does the Porsche OEM non-smokers package look better?

OEM is the same.. Just looks like a hole in the console.. I agree just leave the tray at least it is flush and flows better.

I assume the plug for the cigarette lighter is a blank plug in place of the actual cigaretter lighter (which I will never use)? Does the Porsche dealer have this?

There should be a way to grab that power source, and you can pop the iPod in there, no?
