Dodged a BULLET!
Blessed be the INTERNET!
I had convinced myself, absolutely, that the front differential itself or bearings had failed in my 2001 C4. Nutating bearing noise at 65-68MPH and around corners and the whole bit.
Luckily I had previous experience with tires going noisy after a few thousand miles. Searched the internet for Bridgestone Potenza RE730 and discovered numerous complaints of noise developing after 5k miles or so. Two or three even said they thought the noise was due to bearing failure at first.
I have run Bridgestone Turanzas on my Lexus vehicles since ~1993, so I had absolute faith that the tires were't the problem.
So, do I take the car to Porsche and have them "judge" the problem, knowing full well that their answer will be a function of $$ signs, or do I replace the tires on the chance they are the problem?
Installed Michelin PS2s, Costco, today and the car runs as quietly as the day I picked it up at the factory.

Ditto on Costco. Finding that Costco is getting a bigger and bigger part of my pay check. No biggy since things are less expensive and the warranty is amazing, right? I keep telling myself that as I take things off the shelf and place it in my Costco shopping cart. Good thing Costco doesn't put a logo on everything it sells, my house would be a giant Costco ad.
Actually financed my wife's RX400h through Costco (although, they work with Capital One). Quick and easy process. I may try buying my next car through them.

RLandis: I had the exact same experience. I even went up the corporate ranks and they still said no can do. Its a legal thing. As you can guess, there was a law suit, and this is the end result.

I mostly buy everything I can from Costco. My 2% refund last year was $181 so I spent $9 grand+ there. I find their items to be of high quality at a Walmart price. Regarding tires you can go to Costco.com and see the sizes available. I bought a different size Michelins for the Duramax and the Avalon in the last 6 months. I had no problem getting them to go along.
As I posted on another thread I bought Toyo T1-S at Les Schwab for the Porsche because they have far more stores than any other tire dealer in Oregon and I'm reaaly happy with the Toyo's.

Bought some tires for my old 996 there. It was a '99 and originally had the 265's on the back, it was no problem to have them put 285's on. Amazing price and great service too. They had 2-3 guys work on it and it took at least twice as long as all the other cars to do. They were super careful with it and I'd have no problem going there again. Too bad they don't carry MPSC's...

The money I have saved on tires at Costco vs. Discount Tire has more than paid for the membership. Costsco was 200.00 cheaper for the michelins for my audi with the roadhazard wrnty free (extra 30.00 per tire at discount tire).
I put everything on my costco Amex card, last years rebate 850.00. The other day when I was there, I realized everything I was wearing except for my shoes were from Costco, but I can't pass on Ashworth shirts and Tommy Hilfiger pants at those prices.

The PS2's are great. By far the best street tire I've had.

Had the PS2's on my C32. They're light years better then the old pilots in terms of handiling, noise, and longevity. I'm looking to get them when my tires are up.

I love watching threads go off the deep end and sometimes back again....but hey wwest--you fixed your problem, so pat yourself on the back and let's talk about what your thoughts are on Costco
