Default Air Bag Light

I started my '99 996 this morning and the air bag light was on. This will be my third time with this problem. The first two times occured about 2 years ago, due to faulty seat belt sensors. My Porsche dealership fixed it for free, eventhough the car was out of warranty.

1. My question is, what do you think can be the cause the air bag light going on this time?

2. Also, my car is now located in a different area from when I first had the air bag light problem, and from where I recently had my annual service performed by Porsche. Should I expect the local Porsche dealership to fix it for free, if I provide documentation that I once had a problem with the airbag light. Thanks.

Without knowing the fault codes it is just a guess.

My 1997 Boxster had 2 fixes over the years. The second fix was about 3 years ago and no light since then.

Take it in and have the fault code(s) read.

There was a tsb that required a new seat belt buckle to fix the light malfunction.

Why couldn't it be the exact same cause of the problem considering that it's been 2 years???
