If I could, I'd have both. The UI and Unix underpinnings of the Mac have the advantage, but it's still a PC world out there...

What's up???

P-Car owners who prefer PC’s???

Did your preference for style and quality stop at your garage door?

PC’s are computers for the masses - like Toyota’s.

Macs are superior in every way - like a Porsche.

(1 G5, 2 iMac G5’s, 2 iPods, 1 C4S Cab)

It really depends on what you're using it for. It used to be that Mac's owned the music production, and graphic arts world and the PC was for business only. Today that's not the case, my studio uses a PC which is rock solid, and yet the PC is still the standard for corporations.

Mac's still have a strangle hold on graphic design but in reality it's more legacy than functional. The 17" powerbook is a really nice machine, but I can just do more on my 17" Toshiba.

ymmv,
Rob

Hey! Let's be fair. Toyotas are much more reliable, don't get viruses, don't have to be rebooted all the time, and things don't start/stop working randomly. When you buy a Toyota, you're not buying "beta", and you're not surprised when things actually work as advertised

I read the BMW iDrive is based on Windows CE. That's enough for me to not buy one. I've read stories of these things flaking out and people having to "reboot" them.

Seriously, though, it depends on what you're using it for. For servers, I prefer Unix. A colleague of mine explained it so eloquently: The difference between Windows and Unix is this: Unix is deterministic.

For gamers – PC
For graphic artists –Mac
For Rennlisters - either
For Sir-Mix-A-Lot – “I aint a PC baby I’m a Mac!” However, I don’t think he is referring to computers.

But, with Apple’s recent announcement to go with Intel for their processor, I think everyone will benefit. If I want to hop online and frag a bit in Battlefield2 I would boot into XP. If I wanted to do a bit of Photoshop, I could boot into OS X.
A win – win situation.

MAC only because most of the anger against Gates getting transmuted via hackers to Windows products comes from MAC hacks. I hate to think that terrorism actually works in the IS world, but reality indicates differently.
