Fun Run Pics
We have a regular sunday fun run, ride was from Makati to Ayala Westgrove. Mike, been here? you'd be surprised how many Filipinos are enthusiasts with rare 993 GT2's and 996 GT3RS, and 1 CGT to be imported soon. The best part is that we can get away with enjoying our toys in the expressway speeding up to 280kph. somne Ferraris and GT2's go over 300 here. Both the north and south Expressways are excellent but backroads and in the city are crappy.
Jose, I lived there for 22 years and visited several times since then. First time I saw a porsche was there in Greenhills. A 930 and It was love at first site. Remember when Green Hills was car nut hang out on Saturday nights back in the 80s.
Did Brian (white GT2) joined you guys in your fun drive?
I saw your post about your suspension... looks like your leaning towards the PSS9s. I don't track my car but maybe 1 DE peryear so I settled for the Bilstein/H&R setup. PSS9s would have been overkill for me. But if you do get them(PSS9s), get a very knowledgeable shop to do the corner balancing. Remember they have to disconnect the anti-sway bars when they do this. 5/8s tank of fuel and remove what you don't need in the car. Put your weight in the driver's seat maybe with barbel weights. After the corner balancing, thats when you get the allignment. Make sure that the shop who does this is also knowledgeable with the rear allgnment specially the kinematic setting of the LSA(Light-Stable-Agile rear suspension). The 993s & 996s has those LSAs which works marvels in cornering but very tricky in allignment. Some Porsche shops here doesn't even know or have the tool to adjust those.
Good Luck and Happy Motoring.

Mike, yes Brian joined us a couple of times using his white GT2, I think he's in Shanghai right now. His dad joins us once in a while. If ever I get the PSS9s, I'd have them install in the dealer. Labor is cheap here. Thanks again let me know when you'll be in manila perhaps join our fun run.

Jose,
Thanks for posting the pictures. I didn't realize from your "new owner" post that you were from Manila until I saw this thread. The last time I was in Manila was in 1996. I am planning on visiting in February but will probably just stay in Makati for a few days and spend the rest of the time in Boracay.
Regarding your question about the RUF RGT aerokit in the other thread...the RGT kit is made of polyurethane (front bumper) and ABS plastic (side skirts) just like the OEM factory aerokit. A lot of the aftermarket aerokits are made of fiberglass or fiberglass-composites and will easily crack on impact (and also have fitment issues).
The RGT kit was "Autobahn tested" by RUF and it really does improve performance (not like other kits that are just for show). It provides increased downforce and the bigger intakes on the front bumper help with cooling of the brakes (the kit comes with custom brake ducts). Other than that I think it just looks really cool...it is aggressive but not over the top like the kits from TechArt and Gemballa. I didn't get the rear wing since I have a cabriolet and the wing is too tall and would've interfered with the top's mechanism. But I highly recommend you get the complete aerokit for your coupe.
Cheers,
