NYC Pot hole destroyed my wheel
I am looking for a new Porsche factory BBS design stock wheel for my 2001 996. The outside lip got destroyed. It is a 18" 7.5 front "Sport Clasic II. Any info where I can find one? I also need a Continental ContiSportContact 1.

My sympathies to the wheel...
The roads in NYC this year are a joke! Not sure what these guys are doing. Even after they "repair" the roads, there are 3-4 inch craters or lips, its just amazing. How can you convince a population not to drive SUV's, when the roads are as such.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I am always worried about wheel damage with low profile tires.
There are several companies who sell refurbished wheels. Wheel Enhancement is one that comes to mind. You can send them your damaged wheel and they can either repair or replace or you can just buy one from them. As for the Conti Sport Contact 1, I believe that they are out of production but you can get a Sport Contact 2. However, you should probably replace both fronts at the same time.

Wheelenhancement.com will always have them, including slightly used ones that may be a little less expensive. Good guys. No affiliation.
I feel your pain. I have damaged FOUR wheels in the past year on L.A. potholes - very frutstrating, not to mention expensive.

take a picture, note location and damage, there is a way to claim this from the city. Check there website. I had a wheel repaired by one of those ads in the back of C&D mag. I beleive they were in Farmingdale.
Good luck

report the pothole first and then file a claim after a few days. once the city knows about it, they are liable for damages.
city should have a transportation department or street repair dept.
