What kind of repairs will the manual cover? Almost everything or is it just a few standard procedures? Can someone who already owns it tell me more please?

Just about everthing. A complete manual (with all 95 supplements) will cover all 996's from MY99 through MY05. And, the GT3 (both mk 1 and mk2).

i bought a copy - you can remove the transmission, the engine or whatever. It has the whole manual, just alittle thin on the written imo.

Hang on, now!!

This is a $20.00 manual. All other manuals in the past were, like, $500.00. Is this in the up and up???????

it's an Adobe file download; you pay the printing costs.

as i mentioned, it is a little sparse on details. See my thread on removing the steering wheel Airbag.

for $20 it was more than worth it imo.

Palting, please let us know what you think of the manual. If you like I'll get one. I trust your judgement.

Because they are unauthorized copies. You can get legal copies here:

Default Found another manual supplier

I'm not sure of the content and/or quality, but found this seller of porsche manuals on CD while on a BMW site.

He sent me an email stating;
"We can provide you with the following factory issued literature pertaining to a 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet (996). Workshop Manual + Diagnostic Manual on 2 CD-roms $ 185.00 postpaid"

His moniker is (e-mail address deleted) anyone heard of him? and/or the quality

It seems fairly authentic and complete. Don't know if the supplements have already been incorporated, though. Certain;y well worth it for $20.00. If it's unauthorized, I've now participated in fraud. You sure it's unauthorized? I paid through PayPal to get the instant download, which gave it some credibility as to legitimacy.

Palting - If it does not have the supplements, then I guess you'll have to have to add them. I guess this would be known as "manual MOD's"!?!?!
