Not sure that Paypal buys you any legitimacy. It's easy to set yourself up to accept Paypal. Your only recourse if you feel guilty once you have the manual in hand is to go to the legitimate source and pay for it.

I don't feel THAT guilty. More like, ooops, I made mistake. Not ready to fork over several hundred bucks or more. Anyway, I'm still not convinced it's fraudulent. If I get convinced it is, I'll give an additional $20 to charity.

Well... the only ones you're ripping off are Porsche... since it's their manual.
I too ordered one of the UK workshop manuals... for $20, it rocks. But yes, I'm quite certian Porsche would not authorize them to reprint the manual (either physically or electronically), and therefore it would be in violation of copyright law (at least here in the US - unless the UK law differs greatly, I would assume this is illegal there as well).
Am I worred about being caught? Not really.
Do I feel bad for Porsche? Absolutely not.
Years ago, when I had my 944, I purchased a full set of shop manuals for that car - it was awesome. I happily paid the $500 and change Porsche wanted and considered it a good value for the volume of information. I sold the manuals with the car.
When I got my 996, I was ready to pop for the 996 manuals... I hummed a hawwed a bit, thinking, "oh, maybe I'll wait until the warranty expires" (obviously I'm not going to be doing an engine or trans replacement when the car is in warranty and although the manuals would be nice to have, I figured I'd wait).
Then the bastards raised the price to $2k for the manuals.
Now, can someone tell me, why on earth did they do this? They must realize that at a $2k price point they have now priced the manuals out of reach of most home mechanics. They must also realize this does not follow simple economics - how many manuals can they sell at $500-$600 a pop? How many at $2000?
How many of us would gladly part with $500 for a good set of manuals?
What about $2000... any takers?
That's what I thought.
I can only see this as a move by PCNA to blackmail more owners out of being able to do their own repairs and having to rely on the dealer for that work.
I've worked on all my Porsches.. I enjoy tinkering in the garage - it's as much fun as driving the thing. I'm on my fourth Porsche, so you could say I'm loyal to the marquee... but $2k workshop manuals **** me off.
PCNA, if you're reading this, do you mind telling us, why? If the manuals were reasonably priced, you'd have my $500 - $600 tomorrow.
But $2k? **** off....
Until Porsche comes to their senses the (Link deleted) manuals will work fine.

And, do not forget to check your contents for probable copywrite violation; because you can not get good ranking for your page on different search engines, if it contains any sort of plagiarism. You can check them with AAfter Search. You need to paste your document in the search box as follows *** and click the web search button. The search engine gives the result in the form of percentage of similarity between the original document and re-written document so that one comes to know about possible copyright violation, if any.
