Default driver's door won't close...

hi all,
yesterday...i tried to close "my" door and i did not close. the problem is not the locker....but the glass on the window.
in fact glass does go down a bit when you are trying to open the door both from inside or outside, and it goes back to normal position when openned.
it does go down again when you are trying to open the door both from inside or outside, in order to close it but it doesn't stay at lower position enough to close the door. i.e glass hits the rubber seal and doesn't close.

the only way to do it is ti lift by 20% the door handle either fom inside or outside, hold it there while closing the door, and releasing it once closed.....
but of course this is not the proper way.....

what should i do....

p.s. this identical problem did happend to my car again 6 months ago, but on the co-driver's side.....did "stay" there for 1 day and did go away....and never happend again

any help would be appreciated

Hi Harris,

I believe there is a switch in the latch that "senses" if the door is open or not. You'll need a replacement.

This exact thing happened to my car only it was the passenger side. It was caused by the fact that the window was on it's way to a one touch up position and my son opened the door before it was up. The engine was turned off and the door would not close. I opened the window and closed door and then closed the window. It has worked fine ever since...Jeff

You might want to disconnect the battery. Let everything clear for about 5 mins. Then reconnect. if that doesn't fix it, then its probably the latch switch that needs repalacing. (Note your radio codes before disconnecting battery).
