Default Michilin PS2's are great !!!!!!!

Had new PS2's put on 2 weeks ago and man are they great! My old P Zeros were down to the cord (literaly) on the fronts at 18K miles and the rears had about 20% tread left after 9K. I was on the fence about which tires to get but decided on the PS2. The car feels like it is glued to the road. I know any new tire is a big improvement over my previous worn out tires, but I thought I would post incase anyone is debating. Two thumbs up on PS2. FWIW - tire size was 225 40 and 265 35 18.

Excuse my ignorance here......but is that the OE tire size for a 2000?

2002 it's 285/30 for the 10Js on the back.
Total agreement on the PS2s .....good tire (but don't think they are avail in 285/30).

I had several sets of P-Zeros on my 2001 C4 and I really loved them, with the exception of the quick tire wear.

I have the PS2's on my C4S and they lasted much longer (I'm having new rears put on the car tomorrow and the front's are still very good and I have almost 20,000 miles on them) however, they don't tend to grip as well and I'm not real excited about how they handled in the rain.

When the rears wear out, I'll have to replace the fronts too, at that point I'll change all 4 to another brand.

I have pzeros on mine. I got 24k out of the front and am on my 3rd set of rears. When they grip, they bite hard. When they're worn, they are freakin' useless.

The 265-35-18 was replaced with the 285-30-18. But to answer your question, yes that was the OEM tire size then, but it has since been updated. You can run both widths on the 10x18 rim.

Yeah, these tires are awesome. I have 235 fr and 315/19 rrs. The turn-in is a touch soft, but the response is excellent. I've tracked with them before and they held up very well, especially when warmed up. Transient response is also good. I haven't had any problems in the wet with them, even when I'm playing.

Yes, the 265 in the rear was oem on my 2000. A lot of people have upgraded to the 285, but the car already understeers (not as bad with M030 suspension), so putting wider tires in back would only cause more understeer. To counter the larger rear tires I would have to get wider rims up front. Mine are 7.5 in front. I would have to go with atlest 8 or 8.5 in front. The extra cost for larger rims just wasn't worth it right now.

Not sure if you would be able to tell the difference beween a 225 on a 7.5 rim and a 225 on an 8 rim.

I had P-0s, very good tires but high wear. I am now running Contis aqnd am quite happy. Wear is good and grip when hot is OK. I will track my 996 more this year and see how they perform. I have also heard lots of good things on SO2. Will try them next time I can swap all 4.
