Possible to retrofit PCM1 - Guy has one for sale at Ebay
Found this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...756158296&rd=1
Anyone know, as this has no wiring looms, is this possible to fit. My guess is no as their wil be no existing wiring for computer, etc.
Is it possible to buy the wiring looms seperately, or is this basically a no goer without any looms?
Thanks for any help

I am automatically wary of this seller, as he states it is from a 2003 Porsche.
PCM1 was used up to and including 2002; MY03 was the switch to PCM2.

Maybe the UK cars are dated differently than in North America?
The close up insert in the script is taken right off Porsche pages and is the new piece for sure - that seems a bit strange?

It is possible to retrofit PCM 1 in pre-2002 cars.
I have document on how to do it to a boxster which I found once on the web but I can't find the link again now. It is complex work but a bit of patience and an organised approach would mean it is possible for most engineers.
PM me if you want a copy - it's 1.22MB.

I found it : http://www.ppbb.com/board/museum2.htm
At the bottom of the museum discussions put "PCM" in the search tool
One of the subjects found will be "PCM Installation" by Lefteris (Athens-Greece)
This is a pretty comprehensive discription of retrofitting PCM1

Some of the original posters probably have died since 2005. Irishdriver has not posted anything in 13 years. Last post was in 2010. Note this thread is from 18 years ago. **WARNING** Necro thread....
