Default Rattling?? Reposted from another section...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New QUESTION:

I had numerous problems w/ a metallic sounding rattle in back as well. I originally noticed it at a drive through w/ the window down (I could hear the car better w/ the sound bouncing off the building). It progressively got worse and they checked (& fixed some) a lot of things including mounting bolts for exhaust, heat shield, etc. I had taken it in 2-3 times. Last thing that they did was replace the fly wheel. Problem solved.....

I could manipulate the sound by "popping" the clutch (not as harshly as it sounds). I will say that after replacing the fly wheel, the rattling went away, but only after about 100 miles or so, I'm beginning to hear this sound again (ever so slightly) QUESTION: Do you know why this problem could be occurring. I'm a guy that has NO technical sense or savvy whatsoever so any and all help is appreciated. Why could this happening? Ideas???

Take it back to the dealer, too soon to be having a recurrence.

If you are lucky and get a properly assembled flywheel. there should be absolutely no noise. If you are unlucky and the flywheel is not properly assembled and the spring tension is not right, you will have noise and it will get worse as time goes on. If it was me, I would throuroghly test the toleraces of the flywheel prior to allowing it installed. This should give you a better indication as to whether or not it is tight enough.
