what is a traffic pro?

Traffis Pro is an in dash combination nav/stereo. Replaces the standared stereo and made by Becker I believe......Last saw it available at Crutchfield several weeks ago...obviously they are no longer available there now.....

Here's an improbably request....if I find a Traffic Pro with other than Amber display, such as Red, or Green, is there any way to convert to Amber? Does the Traffic Pro have to be model specific to Porsche for it to work in my 996?

The screen color is what you get. The good news is that the Traffic Pro is Plug and Play. It is the exact unit that Porsche put in the car except it says Porsche Trafficpro vice Trafficpro on the faceplate.

I see you have a 2003. The discontinued Traffic Pro is not plug an play on a MOST car if that is what you have. If you have the optional amp then it will not work with Traffic Pro. If you do not have the optional then there are 2 minor issues with Traffic Pro on a MOST based car.

The BMW folks like red. Ford green. Porsche amber. On the Becker board they say you can buy another face plate to match your color. But the cost is almost as much as the correct unit some of us non MOST owners paid to Crutchfield or others last year.
