Default Testing Testing 123 Shift....

Howdy

I have been testing the prototype of the Agency Power 996 Shift Linkage. This is the piece that replaces the flimsy and soft shift arm that moves up and down. The one that would break down, wear out, or give you slop in shifting. You usually bang through the gears hard up and down, not side to side...

I am running this in combination with a B&M shifter and the throw is short, stiff, and into gear perfect everytime.

I just wanted to give you a sneak peak as production is coming soon. I also wanted to get feedback of those that are using others parts on the market and their impression.

MSRP will be about $90 and the will be Gold bodies with machined connecting rod.

Thanks
Dan!

Good Question

Due to the way the piece is made, there is really a limit on how you can fit it and design it. Our piece is full CNC Machined 6061 aluminum The dowel is also aluminum and all hardware is full stainless steel. It will be anodized as well. Our piece will retail $50 less then theres.

By the way--has anyone thought of making a shift gate for the 996 that is similar to the Ferrari gate? I would bet that a billet aluminum or similar look would be very popular. I for one would be happy to drop some bucks for this mod...

The shifter would have to be redesigned as well because of the squareness. Let me see what I can come up with. Keep in touch by email with me!

As long as we are coming up with our fabricated mods wish list . . . what about making some shifting paddles for the tiptronic selectors on the the steering wheel? What do you guys think - Good, bad, or just ugly?

Like the E46 M3 has? Dont know if that is possible...

On the Fabrication note...we can always do 1 off limited edition pieces, but you pay BIG BUCKs instead of a quantity sell alot of product. You know????

Please keep the ideas flowin. Here is what is in the works for the 996 right now -
Sway Links - Done
Rear Camber and Toe Links
Rear Under Brace
Shift Linkage
Intake Kit
Aluminum Radiator
Shift ****
Carbon Fiber Kit
Melinium Transformer (dude wheres my car!)

Anything is possible...just money and time!

Having a shiftgate like that definitely would look cool. I definitely would be in for one of those!

Aluminium Radiator(s)? 2 or 3?
last time i checked bleeding the coolent system was a major job-
not to mention weight needs to be reduced from the rear - were talking 1-2 Kilos (in the front) with a redesigned radiator system.
Needs to be more effecient in cooling with 2 to be worth it - IMHO
