I'm very in--would seriously consider clutch/lighweight flywheel combo simultaneously if strongly recommended. V

Hello all,

I apologize for the slow response everybody. I have been swamped with work these last days.

Providing that everybody interested on this has sent me their locations, I will compile the list and send it to EVO MS to see what discount we can get as soon as possible.

I will ask them about the clutch/flywheel too. Unfortunately for me, I already bought it so maybe I will not get any disco on this.

Hello everyone,

I want to really really apologize to y'all. I was leading all this group buy but due to a -fortunate- event, I will not be putting a SC in my car.

The reason? See it for your self. A brand new 05 GT3.

I will post high rez pics as soon as I get home.

So, who wants to take the lead talking to EVO MS? I know Eli has talked to EVO MS. I have compiled a list of some of the members that replied to me with their location but I do not think it gets close to 10 people yet. EVO wanted to see how many could get together and where they are located. I can still interface with EVO if you all want but I think it makes more sense for someone with more skin in the game.

Comments?

Default HERE WE ARE....

Ivan,

I'll be more than happy to take the lead on the group buy and I'll be able to coordinate with the facilities that will be performing the installations accordingly. Shoot over a list to me and I'll be more than happy to pick it up from there. I too have fallen short on this venture "this time around".... I'm a little short on cash so I'll have to put it off for now. Actually when I get ready for mine I'll drive down to EVO during the week and drive home on the weekend.

I’m sorry that we don’t have the kits posted on our site just yet but we’ve only recently make the decision to beef up the 996 part on our site.

If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me directly at eli@pelicanparts.com, I'll compile a list of buyers and answer all your questions. I'll send out information as quickly as I get it....

BTW: Ivan you dog, congrats on the GT3.....

Eli,
I am extremely keen on this and I might sign up but there are some big gotchas I need to get over first.

I am in the UK so getting my car to Tod for install is not going to happen. I have researched
the "only" installer here in the UK (actually only 20 miles from me) for any kind of SC unit
who specialises in Porkers. Company is called Ninemeister. Anyway, I spoke to the guys at 9M
and they are the UK's distributor for the EVO MS and are in communication with Tod. However,
they have only ever fitted one EVO MS unit but they seem to know their stuff. Check their web
site out. It's interesting reading for all.
http://www.9mracing.co.uk/html/modul...rger%20Project

The issue I have is this: 9M are a bit purturbed at the possibility of me purchasing one of these units and undercutting their profits (naturally). But they said they would install the unit for me if I got one through a group buy but they will only guarantee their work not the unit itself. On the other hand if I buy the unit from them they will warrant the unit too. Now I know that I get the manufacturers warranty but its not so easy to pull bits off and ship them back to the US etc etc....and it would work out expensive in the long run if anything was faulty with the unit.
Also, the cost from 9M including fitting is circa £10,000. That's about $19,000 at the current rate of exchange. They said the unit alone is £6,000. So buying the unit via the group buy would be a huge saving for me if I came over there and picked it up. I would have to pay import duty & tax too. So I guess I am asking the following:

a) I need Tod to talk to 9M and strike up a deal for parts warranty for me based on "our" deal.
b) I need Tod to price mine especially knowing I have to pay 17.5% VAT and 10% import duty.
I am happy if he can write me a bogus invoice
c) I need to know dimensions and weight of the whole package for shipping purposes (can I carry it home myself)? This may seem silly idea but if it (or the most expensive part of it) can be carried home I will chance the customs. At worst I will have to pay it on entry to Britain.

Finally, I am a DIY'er. Realistically, can this be installed DIY or am I dreaming? Does the package come with install instructions?

OK, I am done. Cheers.

have you guys ever been up against a subaru wrx? I didn't push it bc it was dark but that car is pretty fast. we took turns flooring it while passing each other then letting off. a friendly back and forth race.
I think it is dumb to race a 70, 8-k, Porsche against a wrx or an evo. What if you get in an accident or something?

What can I say, i'm not snooty just bc I drive a p-car. The guy was pretty cool and we gave each other the thumbs up.. We we're basically just going back and forth on and off the gas to test each others acceleration, I hardly call that racing.. Racing is what you do on the track right?

BTW It was late, no traffic and I had my seat belt on

I think that if you mod your car it could beat a modded wrx.
