My car was at the shop 6 weeks, but that is a long long story. It was the first C4S install in the US, and the first for Autosport Werks in Broomfield, Co. If you can take it to Evo, do it there. But it is the ultimate mod. The car just screams. I still can't get over the better gas milage. Will

Wow, $3000.00 for normal install, does it take them almost 2 days to install the kit. The centrifugal supercharger is supposed to be the quickest install from the 3 blowers. I would hate to see the price on a TPC, which uses the roots blower

There is more than simply bolting the supercharger in the car. A third raditator is installed with all hoses and pump. This requires that the front bumper be removed. You also have to replace the fuel injectors. You need to connect an oil feed line to the SC and drain it back into the engine. Various tubing and hoses for the SC along wih the new filter has to be installed. You also need to install a light for the water pump circuit inside the car.

So you can see that it is more than just a few hours work...especially for a shop that has never installed one.

You only get a mileage increase at cruising speed. You WILL NOT get better mileage driving around town in a spirited manner. When the boost is on, you are sucking in alot more air and therefore you will inject more fuel. I average about 27 mpg on the highway and about 20 or less around town.

Ah...I was not aware of the additional 3rd raditator and the light for the water pump needed. As for the oil tapping and new filter that is normal for most Centrifugal superchargers so I still can see how they would charge so much. Then again you did say they are fairly new to these installs.

Hey guys,

No news yet on pricing. But since I am off tomorrow ( ) I will be all over this. I will post an update as soon as I get in contact with EVO MS.

Since I do not know what the conditions of the group buy will be (if EVO MS agrees, of course) I might need to individually email all the interested parties.

Happy new year and may all our Porsche dreams come true in '05...

Does anyone know the status of getting the supercharger smogged in CA? I have heard that it currently will not pass smog but I have also heard somewhere that there were trying to get it approved. Is there any hope? How are other people dealing with this? My car will not need to be smogged for about 3 more years since I purchased it new but it would nice to not have this issue.

Default Update -Please Read-

Hello all,

I finally reached EVO MS today.

The sales person I talked to said that if we can get about 10 people he will make us a deal. Obviously, there is no limit as how many we can get, the more, the better.

So, going through recent posts, here is where we are:

In:

C4C_Leon
steve@oneeyedjackssaloon.com
C4S Surgeon
Ivan (that's me)

On the fence, depending on the price:

ArthurK
CarlosR
Big6Dad
Chris79SC
splitwindow
eli at P
Chads996
Robert Santangelo
kilrgt

So, if the price was right and we were all "in", we would be 13.

I am going to talk to him tomorrow and tell him that I have 13 people "in" if the deal is bueno... what do y'all think?

Comments ideas?

PS. I already ordered the clutch/flywheel. I want to try it first to see what difference it makes...
