Default stock alignment specs

for a '99 996 C2 coupe?

i feel as though i could really benefit from about a degree more negative camber in the front. car really does have that factory street "push" initially. will be tracking the car all year next year, was wondering what the range was for alignment adjustments on stock suspension components.

Max -0.6 negative camber for my 2000 996. Some cars will get less.

I put in PSS-9 and have it lowered to close to European ride height and I get -1.5 camber.

Eric:

You get -1.5 camber up front in a stock 996?

Kam,

It's not quite stock. I replaced the M030 springs/shocks with PSS9's and asked my mechanic to put in as much negative front camber as the suspension would allow without buying camber plates or slotting the strut towers. It really helped take away much of the initial understeer that I was suffering on the track. I tried 7mm front spacers and also helped, but I eventually took them out as I didn't like the way the steering felt.

when you say -ve camber... how does that work? do the wheels point closer to eachother in a -ve camber setup (i.e. in an imaginary triangle formation) or do they point away from eachother forming the imaginary point of the triangle behind the front wheels?

This is how negative camber looks like from either front or rear:

ok... I get it now.... so a little -ve camber in the front will make the car handle better? what about in the rear is -ve camber desired there as well without affecting high speed stability?

while we are on the subject what is caster?

thanks
