Ruf front bumper
Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.... I am considering changing the front bumper on my 2001 C4 cab to the RUF RGT front bumber. Does anyone know a good body shop in the New York tristate area? I am considering Rennwerke in Elmsford, New York.....but they don't paint on the premises. Another option is to order the bumper painted which the new RUF center in Texas offered at an additional $500. My car is black and the RUF salesman felt it's the easiest to match because it doesn't fade as much as other colors. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Welcome to Rennlist! Excellent choice on the bumper -- but I may be a bit biased since I have the Ruf RGT aerokit (sans rear wing) on my '00 Cabriolet!
I strongly recommend that you get the Ruf RGT side skirts as well. The RGT bumper just doesn't look right without the side skirts (think hammerhead shark -- sleek body and big front end.) The side skirts tie the lines of the lower, more "squarish" RGT bumper to the wheels.
I was told by Weissach (North American Ruf distributor) that the RGT rear wing can be fitted on to a cab with some modification -- basically cutting about an inch or so from the stands so that it clears the convertible top mechanism. I may still get the rear wing in the future but I kind of like the profile of the car without the wing.
The parts supposedly come finished and ready to paint but the body shop prepped (primed and sanded) it a couple more times to get a really smooth finish. Accordig to the shop, although the kit is better than the other kits they've seen, it is still not as good as OEM. Finally, they painted it to match. I have an Ocean Blue Metallic car which is a bit tricky to match. I was really happy with the results. I would recommend you get the body shop to match the paint too -- your paint has had 3 years of fading after all.
Anyway, below you'll find a couple of pictures of my car. I really like the Ruf RGT kit -- it is more aggressive than the stock aerokit but not over the top like kits from Gemballa or TechArt (for example.) Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers,

I actually bought the Ruf RGT kit from a Ford dealership in D.C. It only cost me $899.99! I thought it was an excellent deal until the front bumper fell off after only 300 miles! After that sh*t hit the fan! Long story short, it cost me another $14,000 to get the bumper back on. Just kidding.
The Ruf RGT kit is not that expensive. I ordered mine last year from Weissach. The RGT front bumper and skirts cost me $2,400. I have a cabriolet so didn't get the wing which is another $2,500. Complete kit is under $5,000.
