Mooty is rite, I too have wondered what it would be like to own an nsx. Both are great cars. Both have that "WOW" appeal to them. It boils down to personal preference. The budget factor is a legitimate concern, however. PORSCHE repairs will be more ......if you have any major ones that is. Have fun in the search!

Mani,
Read my post about NSX vs 996 maintanance.
Basically they are exactly the same.
If you kill the NSX engine my guess is it would be much more to replace... it ISNT a civic or accord.
The 996 has a more mass produced engine and they dont even bother re-building except at the factory.

I met my wife when I was 20. I had an almost new (back then) red 944 and when she saw my car and instantly wanted to date me (so young with such a nice car). I could not afford that car either, and ended up selling it because one repair bill I had at Brumos completely sunk me. Well that was 15 years ago, and right now she's downstairs asleep with our two kids. Funny how things work out!

The NSX will be more reliable than Carrera unless you get a GT3.

says "who"? The nsx is dated and slow. I had a '92 and though it looked cool it was not that fast. Now, in current times, it's very rice looking. Reliability, not what you'd think it'd be. The toe in on the car destroyed tires very quickly, the transmission lost synchros, the engine sounded like a tin can.

Let me add, I only had it for a week. After misc crap kept breaking and the trans was slipping, I returned it. I later ran into the car and was told the trans had to be replaced. It was nice looking though, it had really nice large mesh wheels with a deep dish, and comptech exhaust, chip, and intake. Looking back, the car really was falling apart.. Not what you'd expect from Honda and the interior was falling apart too.

Actually if you removed your head from your *** for one minute, you'd see that this thread has had some great and objective advice. In fact, for a Porsche forum, there were a lot of positive votes for the NSX. It's unfortunate that you are so insecure with yourself that the car you are driving is the ONLY great car out there.
