Default Radar Detector - Any suggestions

It's been a while since I have had one but I definitely need one. Before I run out to pick one up I figured out see if there were any recommendations out there...

Thanks

Valentine 1 for sure.

Do a search, you'll get lots of opinions.

I did the searches and have pretty much read everything. To summarize quickly everything you will find on rennlist:

VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 ESCORT VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1 VALENTINE 1

In short, its frustrating, but I think Valentine 1 seems to be the majority winner among rennlisters.

ive tried a few detectors, and talked to many people about the ones i havent.

the valentine 1 isnt perfect, but the 'word on the street' is that it is better than everything else thats out there.

and at 400$, you can't afford not to,

if it saves you from one moving violation, it would pay for itself.

In Canada these gizmo are a no-no.....can you install (conceal) the valentine beind the dash board or in the front trunk...I know they sell a piece of equipment to deaden the lights but as I understand the basic unit is still hanging from your windshield. Any info appreciated.

I'll be the lone rebel in the group .

Bell, Passport and V1. All their high end radar detectors are equivalent. Everything else is just hype and advertising. Independent tests actually show the Passport to be better, Mr. Valentine says they are biased gainst him. Again, for what we use them for, they are equivalent. With one big difference. Mr. Valentine is depending on the old consumer thinking that has worked well with things like drinking glasses: "If it's more expensive, it's probably better". The V1 is about $100.00 more than the equivalent (better?) radar detector.

I found the Valentine ads arrogant, and I believed the independent tests. I have a Passport 8600. Has saved my butt many, many times.

I have both the Valentine 1 (in the 40th) and the Passport 8500 (in the Cayenne) and I think they both work fine. I like directional indicator on the V1.

Val 1 is dependable as 'stealth' for normal VG@ detection......however, some of the the boys in Canada are using new "Spectre RDD" technology and they apparently can 'see' the Val 1s......more on Val 1's site.

As for an unabtrusive mount suggest.......(ie one that can not be easily seen from outside front of the car or by the trooper looking in your window)....here has been my set-up on several cars I have Val 1s on.

Nope........it's not.
A combo of it being very high & in the shadow of the visor (which I always leave down)..........sorry, don't have a pic, but it's true.
It's also not visable from behind the car.
