I self installed yesterday and was wondering about the play while in neutral.

How much play forward and back should be normal. Also while in gear I have some for and back play...http://www.bmracing.com/products/shf...9500725-03.pdf - step 29 shows end play...how much should there be?

Wondering if I did something wrong or normal. I marked the cables and it shifts pretty smooth in and out of all gears so far.

If the cables were put back in the wrong place could this cause the problem?

you can adjust the bushing for fore/aft 'play'. if i push my shifter w/ thumb and forefinger by the base of the stalk, i get 1-2 mm movement. less play would be too tight. i'm goin' off memory, been a while since i did mine.

Step 29 shows "end play" how much should there be? How do you adjust it?

Tighten the allen screw until the shifter no longer snaps back to the neutral position from the 5-6 gate, then loosen until it snaps back to neutral (midline). This is how Porsche adjusts the OEM version, which is virtually the same. I can email the tsb if you like, the file is too big to upload..
