Default front end for 996 - options...

Today somebody smacked headon into my 99 996 while parking their car at the local mall... the lady who did this was nice enough to stick around until she found me to provide me with all her information (that was a surprise )... since her insurance is covering all of the damage do I go with a stock front end or can I go with a turbo-look or Ruf front endetc... does anybody have pictures of 99 996's with different front ends that they can post? I think a C4S nose would look hot but can I get one for 99 model year?

thanks
Peter

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I hope it is merely cosmetic.

We discussed this topic extensively in a previous thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/163138-looking-for-opinions-on-bumper-for-00-996-cab.html The only difference between your '99 and our '00s are the headlights (you have the amber trim in the bottom while ours are clear) so the kits we talked about should also fit your car.

Anyway, read through that thread first and then let us know if you need more info.

Cheers,

.:programmatore:.

P.S. The insurance company will likely only cover replacement with OEM parts. If you decide to use an aftermarket kit you may need to cover the cost difference yourself.

GT3R bumper looks good as part of a complete body kit... I really like the C4S front end.. but I think that front bumper only fits the 2002+ round lights...

if you want a 2002+ bumper (OEM turbo/C4S/GT3 MK2/GT2) you will need to replace headlights, front fenders, and bumper. PITA

get the aerokit 1 and be done with it.

you can find the turbo (C4S and turbo are the same) front bumpers and GT2 front bumpers on ebay. I think the GT2 will be too exotic for the looks of the rest of your regular body 996.
