I have a 99' C2 Cab which is trying desperately to hold on to every sunny day of Summer / Fall. Today I tried to put the top up just for security reasons and she was dead. Nothing. I made sure the trunk was closed as I read that it won't go up if it was open at all (it wasn't). I checked the fuse (it was good). It worked fine yesterday...

Any suggestions? It's better it is stuck down than up. I am lucky that it is a certified car as I would expect this would be covered.

the top's operation is dependant on the handbrake being up

and the only way the car can know that is by a 'microswitch' inside the handbrake, it is common for this to fail, and thusly, to disable the top from moving.

try jiggling the handbrake and makin sure the "PARK" light illuminates, that should fix your problem

the part itself is like a 20$ replacement.
