I drive mine down the driveway after washing, slam on the brakes, then back up. Repeat one time. Discs are clean and shiny. Then I finish detailing the car and wipe down. Nothing to it.

It sounds like some people are misinterpreting what johnny1423is saying. He is not bothered so much by the rust, but by the deposition left on the rotors that is causing a warped feeling.

I went through the same thing on my '99. It would leave brake pad deposition almost immediately after washing. Driving the car right after washing wouldn't even clean it off. I could feel this when braking at high speeds. I finally solved it by turning the rotors and switching to Pagid Blue pads.

Funny, because my '01 Turbo has stock pads and it doens't leave a deposition that I can feel in the pedal.

johnny1423 , I feel your pain. Switch out the pads...it may help.

Guys,

The rusting of the rotors after getting wet is normal. It's called "flash rust". Drive the car around the block, apply gentle braking and the rotors will shine.

If you experience vibrations while braking, then it needs to be looked at by a mechanic because it isn't normal.

I hope that helps.

Mark
