Getting Ready to Buy My First Porsche, privately!!!!
It's a '99 996 Cab with 21k miles.
It's at the dealership right now going through their service dept.
Upon completion of the inspection, I will be able to purchase a
Porsche Extended Warranty.
I Was Quoted, For A:
4 Year/48 Month,
'GOLD PLUS' WARRANTY: $2,752.00

IS THIS A SET PRICE BY PORSCHE? OR NEGOTIABLE???

I don't think this is a Porche warranty. The Porsche certified warranty is $1,575.00 and adds two years to your factory warranty up to 100K mile, whichever comes first.

You are correct, except that the dealer has the right to charge more after adding some profit. Nonetheless, the Gold Plus warranty stated above is not part of the Porsche certified pre-owned program.

Geez, now I'm really confused!
The gentleman at the dealership offered me 3-4 different 'Porsche Certified' Warranties, as per what he said, or so, I thought.
He called the 4 year/48month a 'Gold Plus'
and said they also offered a 3 yr. and a 2 year. ?????

EVER HEAR OF THE PORSCHE CERTIFIED WARRANTY REFERRED TO AS A 'GOLD PLUS'???

I better call him back!
He was going to sell it to the original owner and then the owner would sell it to me via a transfer and according to this same gentleman, he confirmed the warranty would transfer!

I better look further into this!!!

Most people have been able to get the Porsche Certified warranty for $1,575.00 - which is what the dealership has to pay to Porsche. If the warranty you are looking at is not a Porsche warranty, make sure it covers seals (as in Rear Main). Some warranties purposely exclude that item on Porsches due to the likelihood of having the item repaired.

I really am only interested in the Certified Porsche Warranty...I'll be calling this gentleman back at the dealership tomorrow, for sure!!!!

I bought a 99 C2 cab Certified Pre-Owned 3 months ago and paid $1549.00 for the Porsche Warranty. This is the only Porsche CPO Warranty. 2yrs/unlim miles. It is a Limited Warranty, and not a full extension of the new car warranty.
