Suspension: X74 on a pre-01 car
Hello! Anyone had any experience with X74 on a pre-01 car ? It seems they are available for 02 later cars, but I would like to know if anyone installed them on a pre-01 car and if there's any trouble on that ?
Thanks in advance!

If I use aftermarket suspension Porsche Club of Brasil will place me a category above, which is GT3, 996TT 993TT stocks, so I'll be in trouble... I need OEM suspension and I heard X74 is the best option available.
I know they were only offered after 2002, but thinking PSS9 suspension is the same for all 996s, from 98 to 04, I wonder if X74 could also be fitted on a 98...

They will fit. The reason why it is not listed for a pre '02 car is that in '02 the cars weigh more. The shocks and springs were set to these weights. They will work fine, but the ride might slightly be a little stiffer due to the 100-200 lbs change.

I'm checking to purchase it from Gert. He told me he installed it on a 2000 car and it worked fine. I know about the weight difference. I was just looking for some ride experiences... Thanks for the inputs!!!

i didn't know the x74 exisited when i put the row m030 on my 'oo, o'wise that's what it would have now. one key reason to go with the x74, is that you lower the car enough to get at least 1.5 neg degress of front camber. the row m030 will not allow more than .75 neg or so. this is a big boon to those who like to track their cars. in addition to compensating for the ill-effects of macpherson front struts, it also allows you to evenly heat-up the front tires--important for r-compound rubber.
